Arrangements are in top gear for Kafanchan, the commercial centre of Kaduna South Senatorial District, to start utilizing a 100MW solar energy to be provided by Anjeed Innova Group, an indigenous company, Elanza News has gathered. Also, the interim management committee of Jema’a Local Government and Fantswam Chiefdom have both given their support for the Anjeed Kafanchan Solar Project. This is coming just as the Interim Committee Chairman of Jema’a Local Government, Dr Bege Katuka Ayuba, submitted a letter to Anjeed Innova Group, stressing the importance of the project. Katuka said in the letter that the council has resolved to fully support the proposed expansion of the Anjeed Kafanchan Solar Project from 10MW to 100MW. “We look forward to successful completion of the Project,” the letter reads. Anjeed Innova Group Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Gideon Nyan, in a reaction, said the company is pleased and gratified by the support from both local government and the host community. “It is the goal of Anjeed Innova to improve the lives of West Africans not only through innovative use of renewable energy, but also to give people the skills they need to sustain regional growth while building and strengthening education and health care systems. He said while the company in collaboration with Kunak Foundation, and a few other organizations, has successfully combined the social agenda with commercial agenda. “Anjeed Innova Group hopes to change this in West Africa with the pioneering non-profit arm Kunak Foundation. The Anjeed Kafanchan Solar Project is under construction in Zikpak, Kafanchan, of Fantswam Chiefdom in Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State. It will bring online 10MW of much-needed reliable power for Kafanchan residents in its first phase. According to officials, the 100MW proposed final phase will bring access to clean, renewable solar power to thousands of homes, businesses, schools, medical clinics and hospitals.
