Report reaching Elanza News indicates that a 45 year old woman, Marry Godwin, has been killed in Kagal, Zangon Kataf LGA of Kaduna State.
It was gathered that Mary, who traveled from Kaduna metropolis, about 150 kilometers away, was shot dead by gunmen right inside her room in the village.
A resident told Elanza News that while they were at sleep, the gunmen made effort to force their way into the room she was sleeping.
“They kept knocking at the door, when she did not open, they shot at the door to force it open. She was killed by the bullets,” a source who doesn’t want his name mentioned said.
“She lives in Kaduna town but she was at the village on a visit to family members. The gunmen stormed the house and made effort to open the door but it was locked and they opened fire and killed her,” he added.
The police authority in the area confirmed the incidence but suspects the killing was carried out by armed robbers.
In a related development, the Police in Zonkwa said it has recovered 113 cows in Ikulu Chiefdom, in Zangon Kataf LGA from cattle rustlers.
The cattle which the Police said belongs to Fulani herdsmen, were recovered following a gun battle with the rustlers.
Divisional Police Officer in Zonkwa, DSP Mark Jek, who confirmed the incidence to Elanza News said the Police were able to recover the cows following the arrest of two suspects.
“Our men arrested the suspects in Saminaka and Jos in Plateau State respectively. We got a vital information from the suspects that helped immensely in the recovery of the cows,” he added.
