A member of the house of reps  representing Jaba and Zango kataf constituency Hon Sunday Marshall Katung aka SMK  has called on the management as well as  the Kaduna state Government to re-open the 3 institutions of higher learning based in southern Kaduna namely ; 1.Kaduna State University kafanchan Campus 2.College of Education Gidan waya 3.College of Nursing  Kafanchan. The Nehemiah IDP camp in Kafanchan,Southern Kaduna was set up by Pastor Gideon Mutum in the wake of the endless killings which rendered many homeless in the region. The camp currently caters to the needs of the following: 215 kids under the age of five 106 nursing mothers 67 widows 150 teenagers among others. A chat with Pastor Gideon revealed the immediate needs of the camp to be food,sanitary pads and cereal for the infants. I and a few friends have scheduled a visit to the camp for Saturday 27th of May 2017 (Children's day) and we'll be delighted to have you be a part of us in whatever way you can. Following ongoing humanitarian crisis in Southern Kaduna over the ongoing attacks in the area by alleged Fulani herdsmen, a popular non-governmental organization, Caleb Danladi Foundation has stepped in to solve some of the humanitarian crisis in the area through the distribution of food and other items to the devastated Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs. The humanitarian intervention which took place on Saturday, March 11, 2017 saw many IDPs at Bankin Kogi of Kaninkon Chiefdom in Jema’a LGA, celebrating after they were supported with items ranging from bags of rice, maize, oil, buckets, clothing and many other materials. Kukah stated this when Nigerian Catholic Bishops visited the communities attacked by suspected Fulani herdsmen. The Bishops also reaffirmed the record earlier released by the Catholic Diocese of Kafanchan that over 800 people have been killed in Southern Kaduna. The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Jaba LGA, Kaduna State, Hon Ben Kure has confirmed the news broke by Elanza News that Earthquake took place in Kwoi communities. Just after Elanza News broke the news, Kaduna State government through Samuel Aruwan issued a statement saying that what happened in Kwoi communities was not serious and went ahead to caution journalists against what it described as false reports. Speaking on Wednesday 1st September, 2016, Illalah urged the resident to remained calm, as drastic measures are already in place to provide succor to the affected houses. The Senator who visited the area with his entourage on Tuesday 13th September, 2016 said the earth tremor was an act of God urging the people in the area to be patient and wait for geologists to give their reports.
