24 hours curfew following consistent herdsmen attacks that has increase tension in Kafanchan

The Interim Management Committee Chairman of Jema’a Local Government Area of Kaduna State, Dr Humble Katuka has declared a 24 hours curfew following consistent herdsmen attacks that has increase tension in Kafanchan.
Elanza News reports that armed herdsmen on Saturday evening attacked a military outpost in Godogodo area were many villagers have been reported killed in recent times.
The suspected herdsmen later advanced to other villages and killed about 20 people, burnt several houses in the Gododogodo area.
But Katuka, who confirmed the 24hours curfew imposed on the Local Government to Elanza News, advised residents to remain indoor pending when the situation would be put under control.

Jema’a LGA is in the southern part of Kaduna, an area which have witnessed the killing of about 10, 000 locals in night attacks since 2013.
The attacks are largely blamed on suspected Fulani herdsmen. Both the state and the federal government have not been able to stem the killings despite frequent protest by the communities and the Southern Kaduna Peoples Union (SOKAPU).
